Mommy Makeover
Abdominoplasty

Excess and drooping skin in the abdominal area can be stressful. To remedy this, the amount of skin can be reduced and the abdomen tightened.

The incision (later scar) is marked as deep as possible in the bikini line so that it is not visible later on. The abdominal wall (skin and fat tissue) is carefully loosened so that it can be sufficiently tightened. The abdominal wall (muscles) is not opened and remains intact.

Treatment

There are three different versions possible:

Mini abdominal wall lifting

Here a scar is created in the deepest part of the abdomen and the skin underneath the navel is tightened. The healing time is relatively short and the risks are relatively low.

The procedure is usually performed under anaesthesia.

Abdominoplasty with reattachment of the bellybutton

The technique is used when there is excess skin above the navel. In order to achieve a perfect result, the navel is freed (the navel remains optically in place) and the skin is pulled down over it. Afterwards, an opening is created for the navel.

Abdominal wall reconstruction "Mommy Makeover"

We work as a team in this intervention. Visceral surgery and plastic surgery at one table. In this way, the patient benefits from maximum safety and complete aftercare.
Dr. Christian Niehus works together with the renowned Prof. Dr. Claudio Redaelli (Hirslanden Clinic) who is responsible for the reconstruction of the abdominal muscles.

Time expenditure

The small tummy tuck can be performed on an outpatient basis. For larger abdominoplasties 1 to 2 nights are necessary. The procedure takes about 90 min - 120 min.

Narcosis

These procedures are performed under anaesthesia.

Risks

Risks and side effects are rare. However, complications must always be expected. Infections are rare, occasionally wound healing disorders or hematomas/seromas occur. Emotional disturbances are normalised after a few weeks.
